The Fire and Life Safety Code applied to a hotel
The UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice (federal Civil Defence, September 2018) sets how fire equipment is inspected, tested and maintained. For a hotel's other checks (electrical, water, food, tourism), see the UAE solutions page.
A federal frame, applied locally
Treating the code as a single rule leads to tracking the same deadline everywhere, which is wrong the moment a property is in a different emirate. Requirements are read at the level where they are actually enforced.
- Fire detection and alarm
- Automatic suppression and firefighting equipment
- Hassantuk alarm link and the Civil Defence certificate
- Fire drills and emergency-lighting batteries
- Lifts: Resolution 31/2014, and TG48 in Dubai
What does not change from one jurisdiction to another
The evidence discipline. A report in English or Arabic follows the same path as a French one: the date has to exist in the text, the interval has to be sourced, and when something is unclear Paco asks you instead of writing an approximate deadline.
Common questions
Does my data stay in the UAE?
No. Your documents and your list of checks are stored in the European Union, in Germany, and read by a European AI (Mistral AI, France). For a paying hotel outside the EU, the chat with Paco runs on Claude (Anthropic, United States) by default, under the safeguards described in the privacy policy. If that location raises a regulatory problem for your property, let us discuss it before you start.
